Varanasi 19-Year-Old Woman Gang Rape Case

In March 2025, a 19-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by multiple men in a hotel in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. The survivor was reportedly lured to the location under false pretenses. Five accused, including the son of a local police officer, were arrested after the victim filed a complaint. The incident triggered immediate outcry over the safety of women and the involvement of a law enforcement family. The survivor, a Dalit, alleged she was targeted due to her caste, adding communal tension.
