Reiwa 4 (Gyo-U) No. 9 Claim for Revocation of Administrative Decision

In 2022, Iranian national Karim Ahmadi applied for refugee status in Japan, citing persecution risks. The Tokyo Regional Immigration Services Bureau denied his application and issued a deportation order. Ahmadi filed a lawsuit under case number Reiwa 4 (Gyo-U) No. 9, seeking revocation of the administrative decision. The case was heard at the Tokyo District Court, with hearings extending into 2025. The plaintiff argued that the bureau failed to properly assess country conditions and disregarded evidence of personal danger, rendering the decision arbitrary.
