In the second year of Chang’an under Empress Wu, three guardsmen of the Longyou circuit find a hidden Tartar treasure while dodging imperial rotation duty. They use a self-triggering crossbow mechanism and invisible alum ink to mask their crimes, but the cold logic of greed turns camouflage into a blood-soaked trap. When the imperial decree clashes with the Tang Code, the survivors face a courtroom where law and malice stand equally naked.
