In the fictional European nation of Aurelia, a massive protest erupts after a police killing. When an officer is injured by an unknown assailant, movement leader Marcus Vane faces ruinous litigation. Amid the chaos, Elián Korr, a gifted but anonymous art forger, witnesses the incident and flees, leaving behind a sketchbook. Forced by a corrupt gallery owner to replicate a stolen Vermeer, Elián discovers the forgery conceals a ledger of art-world money laundering linking politicians, police, and organized crime. As he crafts each brushstroke, he designs his own silent protest: a final masterpiece that will expose the conspiracy through his own meticulously staged death, turning his body into a crime scene that speaks louder than any courtroom.
