The Stale Chase

In the tense borderlands of East Asia, private investigator Muto Kenzo accepts a simple surveillance job: tail an aging war crimes suspect who has evaded justice for decades. But as Kenzo shadows his quarry through rain-slicked alleys, he becomes aware of another presence—a silent figure tracking his every move. A trap closes from behind, pulling both hunter and hidden watcher into a suffocating deadlock. As identities unravel and old atrocities resurface, they discover that the "perfect crime" which allowed a monster to walk free was never a masterpiece of cunning. It was just luck, and society's deliberate blindness.
