Shadow Echo

In the rust-belt town of Millbrook, ordinary clerk Leo Vance becomes obsessed with the "Riverbed Killer," a dormant serial murderer. As Leo mimics the killer's rituals, his own memories begin to warp—he can no longer tell whether he is remembering real events or the killer's documented crimes. When a new body surfaces, Leo's fractured mind convinces him he is the killer, yet forensic evidence points elsewhere. A veteran-turned-detective, haunted by his own flawed recollections of combat, must unravel whether Leo is a copycat, a witness, or a victim of his own collapsing reality. The story explores how memory, like testimony, is never objective—only a story we tell ourselves to survive.
