Tang Shadow Stalker

In the harsh deserts of Tang Dynasty China, detective Pei Xuan is dispatched to the remote Anxi Protectorate to revisit the closed case of Guo Wei, a garrison officer flogged for assaulting his secret lover. However, upon arrival, Pei uncovers a deeper trail of murder, missing gold, and wartime espionage. As he closes in on the truth, he realizes a mysterious "shadow" is reverse-tracking his every move. Trapped in a psychological cat-and-mouse game amidst sandstorms and frontier ruins, Pei discovers that the so-called "perfect crime" was never a masterful plot—just a tragic, darkly comic product of bureaucratic incompetence and sheer, dumb luck.
