The Purging

In the fictional Republic of Huaxia, after a notorious crime boss escapes the death penalty due to a controversial judicial loophole, a shadowy organization known as "The Verdict" begins a brutal campaign of execution. Starting with acquitted criminals, they swiftly move to eliminate anyone identified as having "latent criminal tendencies" by an inscrutable algorithm. As the state loses its monopoly on violence and neighbors begin to fear each other, journalist Lin Xi follows a trail of classified psychological profiles into a heart of darkness, where the most terrifying horror is the utter destruction of everyday trust.
